Bio

Laura Chang McManus received her Master of Arts in Piano Pedagogy degree from California State University, Fullerton.  Laura also holds dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Irvine in piano performance and psychology. Her background includes 29 years of classical piano training and 10 years of flute playing in ensembles. She studied piano under Alison Edwards, Dr. Lorna Griffitt, Pamela Worcester, and Dr. Aija Kim.  She is an active member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC).

Laura has more than 16 of teaching experience in piano. She maintains the LC Piano Studio in Fountain Valley, California. Her students have ranged from pre-schoolers to adults, and she has taught at all levels ranging from beginner to advanced.  Her students have placed in festivals sponsored by MTAC Irvine & South Coast Branch and SYMF competitions.

Prior to establishing LC Piano Studio in 2004, Laura taught piano in both private and group settings, as well as worked with children with autism in private therapy settings.   Her unique experiences shaped her approaches in teaching piano to various students.  She is committed to provide a well-balanced music education for each student to instill dedication, self-expression, motivation, and a sense of confidence in students through focused musical study.

When not teaching piano, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, plays in competitive adult tennis leagues, and volunteers in organizing SoCal VegFest (a vegan festival) with her husband.
